WHAT IS THE DEADLINE?

We are actively working with EM Respondents to true up all of their carbon market trades by Feb 28 to then update our State of the VCM and CORSIA index next month. With that being said, data analysis and cleaning is done on a rolling basis. All respondent data will be integrated into the new EM Data Intelligence & Analytics Dashboard.

WHAT TIME PERIOD IS COVERED BY THE SURVEY?

Throughout 2022, organizations will report on the calendar year 2021 and year to date 2022. EM will be in touch regularly with organizations to report at the frequency they self-select.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Respond now to ensure your organization is recognized for its commitment to transparency in EM’s first State of the Voluntary Carbon Markets update report of 2022. This is done both in the appendices of reports and installments and on the EM website. Responding organizations are eligible for additional benefits including a respondent only EM Data Intelligence & Analytics Dashboard.

WHAT ARE THE CORE DEVELOPMENTS TO THE SURVEY SYSTEM & STRUCTURE?

  • Shifting the survey from an annual basis, EM has restructured its reporting frequency and format, encouraging a minimum reporting cycle of annual and enabling the reporting of transactions and deliveries data as regularly as daily. Respondents are asked to identify the reporting frequency that fits best for their organization at the start of the survey.
  • The survey is now housed in an online reporting platform, with an option to enter transactions offline in a spreadsheet and/or via an auto-fill-enabled online form. The first step is for organizations to establish their organizational profiles, after which they’ll be granted access to the full survey. Returning respondents may skip this initial step and jump right into the full survey.
  • Survey questions have been refined, expanded, and added related to project developers, buyers / demand-side behavior, deliveries, and recent market developments (e.g., market prospects, Taskforce for Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets, Article 6, Jurisdictional REDD+, and COVID-19).
