Ecosystem Marketplace (EM) first started reporting on the voluntary markets for carbon offsets, otherwise known as carbon credits, in 2005 and has since become a leading source of information on environmental finance, markets, and payments for ecosystem services. The insights and analysis of carbon offsets prices and corporate claims (e.g., net zero, carbon neutrality) are based upon the trades, deliveries, expertise, and sentiments reported by a growing global network (known as EM Respondents – the 2021 list will be made public on 15 Sept.) of hundreds of active and prospective market participants that are originating and/or trading carbon credits – including project developers, investors, intermediaries.
