Harvesting the Greenhouse: Comparing Biological Sequestration with Emissions Offsets

Technical paper that examines the relative value of sequestration and emission offsets given their differing saturation and volatility characteristics. Specifically, the paper estimates the relative value to a carbon purchaser of land-based sequestration and emission offsets as they arise over time. Also, addresses the concept regarding the rental of land-based sequestration generated sequestered carbon and the bridge to the future concept involved with future paths of carbon prices.
