Protecting Wetlands with the Clean Water State Revolving Fund

The Clean Water State Revolving Fund programs have funded over $43.5 billion, providing over 14,200 low-interest loans to date. This Fund offers: low interest rates with flexible terms; significant funding for nonpoint source pollution control and estuary protection; assistance to a variety of borrowers, including municipalities, communities, individuals, and nonprofit organizations; and partnerships with other funding sources. The US Environmental Protection Agency is encouraging the development of viable options for wetlands mitigation banks that could be funded by these loans.
