Finance and Carbon Market Specialist

 
Effective with the release of this announcement, Winrock International is seeking applications from highly qualified professionals for a Finance and Carbon Market Specialist position.  This position is expected to be based in Washington, D.C.  The Specialist would be expected to provide technical guidance and training related to the development of financial mechanisms and strategies to access markets as a means of supporting natural resource management programs.  This would likely include mechanisms such as REDD+ and payment for environmental services (PES). This position is contingent upon receipt of donor funding. Written and spoken fluency in English is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
Education:                                   Advanced Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Environmental Finance, or other relevant environmental and international development fields.
Work Experience:           Minimum 8 years experience in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Finance, and/or Natural Resources/Agriculture Economics.
                                                                    Four years of substantial managerial and technical experience working with forest carbon, payment for ecosystem services, voluntary and/or regulatory carbon markets, project finance.
USAID experience in developing countries is highly desired
 
Skills:                                                   Winrock seeks applications from technical and professional candidates with experience working on international development projects in one or more of the following sectors:
 -Carbon credits and Climate Change
 -REDD+ and Payment for Environmental Services (PES) programs
 -Demonstrated experience with voluntary and compliance carbon markets including VCS, CDM and REDD;
 -Economic incentives programs
 -Natural Resource Management (NRM)
 
 

Candidates must be fluent in English.

Carbon Inventory Technical Expert

The position is contingent upon receipt of donor funding. Written and spoken fluency in English is essential.
