The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) founded as a non-profit organization under Korean law in June 2010. GGGI is dedicated to pioneering and diffusing a new model of economic growth, known as “green growth” that simultaneously targets key aspects of economic performance, such as poverty reduction, job creation and social inclusion, and those of environmental sustainability, such as mitigation of climate change and biodiversity loss and security of access to clean energy and water. GGGI’s approach is particularly suited to developing countries because it starts from the imperative of broad-based progress in living standards and growth.
GGGI advice on a strong and comprehensive analytical framework, spanning from sector-by-sector analysis to the implementation of green growth plans (GGP). The scope is supporting countries in shifting their growth model towards a more sustainable, low- carbon, climate resilient development path. GGGI operates tailored but consistent programs for each country and assists partner countries in designing pragmatic policies best suited to their respective economic opportunities and constraints.
Special Assistant to Executive Director should support Executive Director of GGGI in various fields, including but not limited to research and administrative works. The applicant of this position is highly expected to have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Facilitate senior management follow through, coordination and communication;
Conduct research assistance and writing in relation to the preparation of decisions, speeches and articles;
Support the planning and execution of institutional development priorities; and
Follow up on Executive Director’s discussions with key external stakeholders, including through proper communication and engagement with internal teams.
Compensation commensurate with skills and experience, competitive with other nonprofits;
Education: At least Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as development cooperation, environment, economy, international relations, or civil engineering
Experience: A Master’s degree with minimum 3 years of experience; A Bachelor’s degree with minimum 6 years of experience in researching
Languages: Proficient written and spoken English is a must; additional languages are a plus.
Ability to distill and synthesize a broad range of knowledge and information into reports, advocacy materials, and other documents (including administrative work);
Ability to work effectively in team environment and to proactively engage in the project; and
International work experience.
