The International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) seeks a Senior Staff Associate to serve as Theme Coordinator for the new CGIAR Challenge Program, “Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security” (CCAFS) a major, 10-year collaborative endeavor between the international agricultural (CGIAR) and global change (ESSP) research communities. The Theme, “Adaptation Pathways Based on Managing Current Climate Risk,” covers:
(a) rural climate information services;
(b) use of seasonal climate prediction;
(c) risk management through diversification;
(d) financial risk transfer; and
(e) managing risk through food distribution and crisis response.
This position will be based on the Lamont campus in Rockland County, NY.
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in relevant field of agriculture and 4 years of relevant work involving program management required.
Preferred Qualifications: A PhD is a plus. French proficiency is strongly desired. Experience interacting with CGIAR Centers is strongly preferred.
