Full-Time Summer Analyst

LOCATION:  Washington, D.C.
POSITION STATUS:  Full Time
FLSA CLASSIFICATION:  Exempt
COMPENSATION:  Stipend
REPORTS TO:  Director of Research

The Carbon War Room is a catalytic non-profit founded by Sir Richard Branson that harnesses the power of entrepreneurs to implement market-driven solutions to climate change.

The War Room’s unique approach focuses on bringing together successful entrepreneurs, business leaders, policy experts, researchers, and thought leaders to focus on market-driven solutions.

Our approach is to identify the barriers that are preventing market-based scale up of climate change solutions and thereby perpetuating the status quo. In addition to technology and policy gaps, these barriers include principal-agent problems, information gaps, and lack of common standards or metrics.

Responsibilities of Position:

Summer analysts will be responsible for completing reports outlining specific strategies to overcome the barriers preventing the implementation of cost effective carbon reduction strategies.

Summer analysts will also assist with the initial review and analysis for business briefing reports, publications which highlight less than gigaton scale, sub sector opportunities, and occasionally provide assistance to Operations Teams in collaboration with or independently of a member of the Research Group.

Qualifications

Interest or experience in clean-tech/renewable energy and passion for finding innovative solutions to global climate change.
Interest or experience in investment banking, venture capital, project finance, or impact finance.
Excellent writing skills, strong command of analytical tools and methods.
Start date mid-May to early-June.

Please send resume, cover letter and short writing sample to mcullinen@carbonwarroom.com.
