Description: Planet Positive is looking for a bright and outstanding intern to help communicate the benefits of sustainability and being good for the planet. We are looking to work with an individual who has a passion for sustainability and the environment and who has the ability to inspire people into action. In short we are looking for someone who has a track record in sustainability and great communications skills with a passion to engage people in reducing their carbon emissions to be part of the team for the next 3 months.
Planet Positive is an international mark of sustainability which has been in existence since 2006 with offices in London and Los Angeles. Certification signifies that a business, product, event or person is committed to creating a positive environmental, social and economic impact on the planet, year on year. Certification includes annual measurement, reduction and reporting of your carbon footprint and an investment into the community. We have developed certifications that enable businesses and organisations to become more sustainable and see direct business benefits as a result, such as increases sales, energy savings, brand differentiation and employee engagement.
Our work is based on the Planet Positive Protocol which brings together international standards in carbon footprint measurement and reduction and we will be introducing water management into the Protocol in 2011. The Protocol is overseen by an independent Technical Committee of academics and industry experts.
We work with organisations from large corporations to SMEs, charities to schools such as Deloitte and Land Securities, to over 100 SMEs and charities including Cool Earth, supported by Sir David Attenborough and Lord Stern. We are helping bring sustainability and the benefits of being green to wider audiences, through work with the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, sport and media.
Planet Positive certification provides an effective key performance indicator (KPI) and proof of positive action on the environment. As a result, it enables organisations to promote their green credentials form a point of fact and with support of 3rd party assurance. This is one of the major reasons that Planet Positive has recently been engaged to provide the sustainability certification for the Government’s eMarketplace for procurement.
