Auditor – SCS Global

The Auditor, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Verification Program, is a lead auditor who is responsible for conducting assessments under various voluntary carbon offset standards as well as the State of California’s Cap and Trade compliance program. The assessments will include the validation and verification of projects as well as the validation of methodologies. Areas of responsibility include document review, data and model review, on-site verification activities, interviews with stakeholders and clients, report writing for carbon projects, and assisting in quality system maintenance.

Roles and Responsibilities

Conduct Technical Services
  • Conduct on-site and desk audits in conformance with pertinent protocols
  • Prepare and submit audit reports within established timelines
  • Conduct technical report reviews generated by others
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable protocols and standards
  • Ensure adherence to quality requirements and code of conduct standards
  • Track and report on audit status, ensure benchmarks are meeting established deadlines
  • Prepare and maintain audit related documentation
Client Support
  • Respond to client questions and concerns and document communications
  • Develop and distribute guidance material to clients
  • Ensure clients are informed about the assessment process and relevant requirements
  • Ensure manager is informed of significant client issues and concerns
Program Quality
  • Ensure program compliance with corporate quality system and relevant GHG schemes
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of standards
  • Participate in the Internal audit process
  • Participate in the  investigation of complaints involving accreditation body
  • Adhere to and enforce all quality and code of conduct standards
  • Assist in the development of quality documents
  • Participate in the preparation for and completion of external (accreditation) audits
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, GHG accounting or other relevant discipline
  • Professional work experience in a relevant discipline
  • Exceptional organizational, writing, presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Initiative and ability to work independently; responsive and adaptive personality
  • Fluency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and FileMaker Pro
  • Excellent technical writing and/or copy editing skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to handle complex and varied tasks
  • Ability to complete time-sensitive projects and meet realistic deadlines
