EKO Asset Management Partners  is an investment management and advisory firm that develops and implements innovative approaches to financing conservation and environmental sustainability designed to deliver attractive returns to investors.  EKO was founded by professionals with extensive experience in finance, banking, asset management and environmental conservation.  EKO’s recent work is focused on carbon, water, fisheries and natural infrastructure.

Role and Responsibilities
 
EKO Asset Management Partners is seeking a full-time Associate to work primarily with two of EKO’s key business partners, a major conservation NGO and a major engineering firm. EKO’s partnerships with these organizations involve executing joint consulting and investment activities around potential environmental and conservation transactions, including origination, diligence, execution and monitoring, and building investment vehicles with these and other organizations.  
 
The position will also involve supporting EKO’s research on the environmental impact investing market, being executed in partnership with the conservation NGO and a major bank.  
 
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Originating and analyzing transactions via our partners as well as through asset owners, investment firms, government,   engineering and consulting firms and non-profit organizations
  • Evaluating investment opportunities and conducting investment due diligence
  • Building financial models to analyze transactions
  • Assisting in the execution and management of investments
  • Leading market analysis and research to inform investment and business strategy  
  • Conducting research and analysis for consulting projects  
  • Overseeing and managing staff resources
  • Developing and managing management reporting tools for investments and investors  
  • Some travel; approximately twice a month domestically with occasional international travel
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 3+ years of work and/or relevant educational experience in either finance, consulting or conservation-related fields; Applied investment decision-making or transaction execution experience desired  
  • Graduate degree or credential related to finance (e.g., MBA or CFA) or policy or law degree with extensive finance training preferred, but not required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, detail oriented, skillful with quantitative analysis
  • Ability to conduct sophisticated investment analysis and build complex financial models in Excel under time constraints; formal analyst training from an investment bank or private equity fund preferred
  • Ability to synthesize research and compose professional consulting outputs in Powerpoint and Word
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously, manage multiple counter-party relationships, and engage in multi-stakeholder dialogue across non-profit, government and private sectors
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, express data in graphic forms, and synthesize data for internal and external stakeholders
  • Passion for environmental markets and conservation
  • Self-starter with a desire to work in a fast paced, rapidly growing, and entrepreneurial environment
  • Knowledge of climate and environmental policy, impact investing, payments for ecosystem services and/or other environmental markets is helpful but not required
  • Excellent professional judgment regarding time management, product delivery and client engagement
  • Team oriented, and proven ability to perform in high-stress environment
