TechnoServe is a non-profit organization that helps entrepreneurial poor in rural areas of the developing world to build businesses that create income, opportunity and economic growth for their families, their communities and their countries. They locate emerging entrepreneurs and nurture them through training, mentoring and networking. To ensure that their businesses can continue to grow and have an increasingly positive impact on the rural poor, TechnoServe helps entrepreneurs to think and act strategically. TechnoServe's work with community businesses often includes tapping biodiversity values and services not yet in mainstream markets, as is the case with shade-grown coffee.
