The Mountain Institute (TMI) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to conservation, community development, and cultural preservation in the Andes, Appalachian, Himalayan, and other mountain ranges of the world. The work of TMI is organized into the following programs: In Appalachia, In the Andes, In the Himalayas, Peak Enterprise, Research and Education, Sacred Mountains, and Mountain Learning Courses. TMI programs may have different geographic ranges, or thematic focus, but all our work depends upon close collaboration with partner organizations, mountain people, communities and environments.
