Senior Manager of Carbon Sales and Marketing – Impactcarbon

Summary:
Impact Carbon’s mission is to improve health and the environment in developing countries through  clean energy projects that reduce carbon emissions. Impact Carbon generates carbon emission  reductions from household energy projects that improve living conditions in the less-developed  communities we serve. We leverage the financial returns from these projects to benefit local partners  and people.
 
Typical Impact Carbon projects involve scaling the sales and distribution of efficient appliances such  as healthy cookstoves and water treatment devices. Impact Carbon works with investors, project  developers, philanthropists, and NGOs to quantify the carbon emissions reduced by our projects and  to verify them to rigorous carbon standards.  Impact Carbon’s headquarters office is in San Francisco, California.  

 

Impact Carbon is seeking a Senior Manager of Carbon Sales and Marketing to lead Impact Carbon’s work to  commercialize the carbon credits generated by our clean energy projects. The successful candidate will be a  highly ambitious individual with a demonstrable track record of high-volume carbon sales in the global  voluntary and compliance markets. The Senior Manager of Carbon Sales and Marketing will manage the  expansion of this line of business for the organization, growing our network of buyers and exploring all  avenues of demand generation.  

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Impact Carbon’s portfolio of carbon credits, which generate over one million tonnes  annually of premium Gold Standard VERs (majority) and CERs issued from improved cookstove  and safe water projects operating globally  
  • Secure wholesale contracts to provide price protection for Impact Carbon’s portfolio  
  • Support the development of retail opportunities for wholesale partners  
  • Develop and implement marketing and branding strategies for Impact Carbon’s premium  credits  
  • Identify and capitalize on new demand generation opportunities  
  • Manage client accounts and relationships
Qualifications and Experience:  
  • Strong track record of carbon credit sales at high annual volumes
  • Deep understanding of global carbon markets and ability to identify commercial opportunities  across markets  
  • Expertise in the branding, marketing and differentiation of premium carbon credits  
  • Minimum 5-7 years of carbon sales experience  
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred  
  • History of managing new and growing programs and substantial client management experience  required, experience with CSR initiatives preferred
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and multitask
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English  
  • Passion for Impact Carbon’s programs and mission  
Compensation:
Impact Carbon offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package. Salary is dependent on  experience.
