Pilot Project Specialist, REDD Mexico – The Nature Conservancy

Summary

The REDD+ Chiapas Pilot Project Manager is responsible for coordinating field demonstration projects and key stakeholders to test REDD+ models and demonstration activities for Mexico’s Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (M-REDD) Program.  S/he will oversee the design, implementation and follow up of demonstration projects at local/regional scales within the boundaries of the pilot site and influence areas. The projects will work as REDD+ testing sites/regions/groups to help identify best practices and lessons learnt that can be adopted as policies and implementation activities by the government of Mexico and other involved groups to achieve cost-effective reduced greenhouse gas emissions.  S/he will establish and maintain partnership with subnational government officers and local/regional stakeholders in order to share experiences and best practices from demonstration projects and advance the development of subnational REDD+ readiness process.

Experience Preferred:  

  • BA/BS degree and 5 years experience in conservation practice, climate change or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
