The Office of the Chief Economist is seeking a motivated and highly-qualified candidate for an exciting full-time permanent position located in the Office of Environmental Markets (OEM) located in Washington, DC.

The Office of Environmental Markets (OEM) leads development of emerging markets for carbon, water quality, wetlands, and biodiversity and is building an environmental market infrastructure, supporting regional market innovation, and fostering collaboration around market-based conservation within USDA and across the federal government.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
At the GS-14 level:

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.  Qualifying experience for GS-14 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-13 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience in the promotion of agriculture and natural resource conservation programs and experience in the development of environmental marketing strategies.

At the GS-15 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.  Qualifying experience for GS-15 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-14 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience providing leadership in the evaluation of agriculture and natural resource conservation programs and experience developing strategies that advance the integration of new environmental markets for agricultural and forest land uses and promotes the relationships with new land uses for food, wood products, carbon markets, biodiversity, and other ecosystem services.
