You can be part of a vibrant workplace that welcomes diverse perspectives, talents and contributions, where innovation and a focus on results are a way of life.

Program Background:
EDF’s Corporate Partnerships Program works with leading companies like McDonald’s, FedEx, DuPont, and KKR to protect human health and the environment by reducing the lifecycle environmental impacts of products and services and incorporating environmental considerations into business culture and decision-making.  EDF pioneered the NGO/corporate partnership model and over the past twenty years has helped businesses across the country take bold moves to adopt greener practices and technologies that also improve their bottom line.   Our projects are designed to achieve significant environmental results, generate business benefits for our corporate partners, and create new industry-wide best practices.

Program Description:
Climate Corps aims to reduce energy use in the commercial building sector, which accounts for nearly 30% of the nation’s electricity use and nearly18% of national greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution.  Since 2008, EDF has placed specially trained MBA students in summer internships with leading corporations such as Target, Bloomberg, Verizon, AT&T, Sony, and Yahoo!, where they build the business case for energy efficiency.  Since its inception, Climate Corps fellows have uncovered inefficiencies in lighting, computer equipment and heating and cooling systems that, when corrected, stand to save participating companies approximately $439 million and 557,000 metric tons in annual carbon emissions.

Internship Description:
The EDF Climate Corps team seeks an undergraduate college student in his/her junior or senior year to work with our team 10-15 hours a week for the winter/spring semester of 2011 (January-May) to assist with program support. • Maintain internal information tracking systems for the Climate Corps program’s 300+ contacts at leading corporations

  • Communicate project results to EDF staff, corporate partners, potential host companies, the media, and other stakeholders through reports, press conferences, presentations, and other methods

  • Contribute to the development of recruitment and donor marketing materials

  • Work with EDF’s internal marketing and communication team to update the Climate Corps program website

Requirements:

  • Enrolled at an accredited university; a major in economics, business/finance, environmental policy, environmental studies or environmental science is preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues and partners of varied backgrounds and experience

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple assignments

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Sharepoint

Salary:  UNPAID; academic credit available.

Term: This is a part time position (10-15 hours weekly).

Application: Please submit a cover letter and resume to jobs@edf.org. Application materials will be accepted until Friday, December 10th.
