This position offers you the opportunity to lead a key office of the nation’s leading urban parks non-profit. As part of this, you would play a critical leadership role managing and completing a project that is not only immensely popular in Chicago, but also has high visibility nationally within the parks and urban planning world. As Chicago Area Director, you will work with and lead a team putting the finishing touches (both monetary and physical) on The 606, a public-private partnership that has brought green open spaces, art, trails, event spaces and more to neighbors, Chicagoans and the world. Additionally, while The 606 is completed, you will lead the team in developing new programs and projects, making your personal mark on the Chicago area and on the projects that you’ll build from the ground up.
This is a role for someone who is comfortable working with top political and private leaders in Chicago, maintaining and building relationships and creating excitement around projects. It’s a role for someone who understands both fundraising and operations, and who can bring the best of both to the table.
